Mixed laser cutting machine ( MLB) is a combination of a powerful, co2 laser tube and fiber optic feed. The co2 laser tube with high power produces stronger and more intense light than a typical fiber optic tube which in turn allows for a more precise path for cutting. The fiber optic feed permits two-way, synchronous laser communication between the co2 laser tube and the computerized CNC machine. Because of the high-power co2 laser tube, the intricate patterns created are of better quality than those made by a conventional CNC machine. To produce more precise pieces, some companies combine the traditional CNC machine and an MLT (medium-laser cutting) system. This results in the finished product is almost identical to a traditional CNC machine. The main difference between the CNC machine versus a MLT is the fact that the latter produces focused beams. This means that they can only operate in one direction. Because of their focused output, the high-power fiber optic output of CNC machines is not needed, and consequently it doesn’t have to rely on a correlated laser focus. The output of a CNC machine’s laser beam directly controls the movement of a drill bit. This allows the system to be controlled with greater precision. However because of the dependence on a correlated laser focal that is, the laser’s output strength and not the fiber optic feed, the accuracy of the cut is reliant upon that laser’s output power.
