You can’t spend any amount of time by an ocean without noting the power of the coming and going of the tides. But what is the source of this tidal power? Where does the energy to move all that water come from?
What is sustainable living? It’s living more simply where “simply” may be defined as “regular” or “unpretentious”. It does not, however, means that you go pack your backpack and tent and go live in the woods and be a hermit. It does not mean you stop eating meat and go vegetarian. It does not mean you forgo of the finer things in life and sulk for the rest of your natural existence. In plain words, living more simply is doing without the unnecessary clutter that you constantly surround yourself.
The research and developments are already being done and are on the way. The aim is to get a real solution for this proven technology. The power and its complete success will mean the remarkable step have been taken towards protecting the environment.
Like wind power, hydropower use the same theory as wind power but hydropower convert the energy of moving water into electricity. But tidal power is a bit complicated compare to hydopower although both of them convert energy of moving water to electrical energy. A reservoir is built at the seaside that have very high tide height ( >5m ), a valve is used to control the water flowing in or out of the reservoir hence is used to generate electricity.
Since you don’t have to leave society and are still earning money it just takes a matter of time to replace everything with energy-efficient products and end even add energy producing technology to your house.
Wood is a renewable source, however you need to be careful what type of wood you choose. Hard wood tress such as oak take a very long time to grow and do not grow again once they have been cut down. This makes these types of wood inappropriate to use because it is unsustainable. Pine on the other hand is fast growing and makes a good, durable wood. Pine is very much sustainable. Another type of wood that is catching on around the world is that from bamboo. This doesn’t’ take very long to grow and keeps growing even once cut down. One plant can keep on producing wood for decades. Because there is just a couple of years needed for bamboo to grow to a good size it offers total sustainability. Bamboo flooring is extremely durable and hard wearing too and requires little maintenance.
People and businesses taking advantage of this technology today are the people and businesses of the future. But solar power is here now, and it is here to stay.
