Inspiration and creativity can be hard to muster sometimes, some people will call this ‘Writers’ block’ Personally I don’t buy into the myth of writers’ block, I think it only limits people’s creativity, and that anyone can generate creativity and inspiration if they try hard enough.
Negative Emotional Reasons: This is a powerful form of motivation because it taps into what drives the subconscious mind. This is what happens when people get sick and tired of being sick and tired. Sometimes this condition is called “hitting rock bottom” however it doesn’t need to be that extreme in order to be effective. Your subconscious mind’s main objective is survival and that means avoiding pain. When you can generate emotional pain you will become subconsciously driven to make a change. This is very useful for getting you started.
Cooking takes time and inspiration to come up with new and exciting dishes. Just look at Gordon Ramsey. Any person who has seen him cook on television can never say that he does not have a passion for his work, nor is he lacking in inspiration for cooking.
My friend left the table to visit the restroom, and I was left alone with my thoughts about our intense discussion. Had I really “heard” the message correctly in my own heart or mind? I thought I’d given my friend the product of real follow me – the kind of Heaven-sent message I believe all of us have available to us all the time but are usually deaf to hearing – but had I, really? Had I given her a good idea, or a disastrous one? Would following my advice needlessly cost her a lot of money? Was hers a problem that would, as her other friends had suggested, be better solved by tough-mindedness than by extraordinary generosity?
Every time you complain about ‘the rich’ or ‘the big guys’ you’re telling your subconscious you’re not part of those groups and don’t want to be – gee, think that might hold you back a tad? If you’re always dwelling on your bills and poor financial status you’re undermining your own self-image – an important aspect of your motivational capacity. If you’re daunted by huge projects that are looming on your horizon or by to-do lists that seem to go on forever, take a look at the NLP technique of ‘chunking’ and get over it.
The spark that triggers motivation is hope, and it’s the flame that keeps it going. Hope is desire. It’s the expectation of realizing your dream, and it’s important that you keep it alive.
Here is a small bit of advice for finding your drive and inspiration. Set a goal for yourself and then strive to reach it through a trusted program or challenge. For a goal, why not pick up an outfit from the store that is smaller than your actual size? Make it a goal to fit in it within a certain date. The outfit is your weight loss inspiration or your inspiration can from a person or support group. For a good challenge, find a program that might offer an incentive (like free membership, prizes, gift cards, etc.) for losing a certain amount of weight. Make your own choice and try hard till you reach your goal. I truly wish you the best in your weight loss journey.
